Indian Army Recruitment 2025
The Indian Army has announced recruitment for the 65th Short Service Commission (SSC) Tech Men and the 36th SSC Tech Women courses. Vacancy Details
The Indian Army is offering a total of 381 vacancies through this recruitment process. These positions are divided into the following categories:
- SSC Tech Men: A total of 350 vacancies are available for male candidates applying under the SSC Tech Men category. This represents the largest share of the vacancies, emphasizing opportunities for engineering graduates from diverse disciplines.
- SSC Tech Women: For female candidates, there are 29 vacancies reserved under the SSC Tech Women category. This provides a great platform for women engineers to take leadership roles in the armed forces.
- Widows of Defence Personnel: Additionally, 2 vacancies have been specifically set aside for widows of defense personnel to support their reintegration into professional life:
- SSC(W) Tech: 1 vacancy is allocated to widows who hold a B.E./B.Tech degree in any engineering discipline.
- SSC(W) Non-Tech (Non-UPSC): The remaining vacancy is for widows with a bachelor’s degree in any field of study.
Educational Qualification
- For SSC Tech (Men & Women): Applicants must hold an engineering degree in a relevant stream. Students in their final year of engineering are also eligible, provided they can submit proof of passing before the training commences in October 2025.
- For Widows of Defence Personnel:
- SSC(W) Tech: Candidates must have a B.E./B.Tech degree in any engineering stream.
- SSC(W) Non-Tech: A graduation degree in any discipline is mandatory for this category.
Important Dates
- Start Date for Online Application: The online application portal will open on 7th January 2025, allowing eligible candidates to begin the registration process and submit their applications.
- Last Date to Submit Application: The deadline for submitting the completed online application is 5th February 2025. Candidates are strongly advised to apply early to avoid last-minute technical issues.
- SSB Interview Schedule: Shortlisted candidates will be called for the SSB interviews, which are scheduled to take place between May and July 2025. The exact dates and venues will be communicated individually to candidates.
- Commencement of Training: The training for selected candidates will commence in October 2025, marking the start of their journey as future officers in the Indian Army.
Age Limit
- SSC Tech (Men & Women): Applicants must be aged between 20 and 27 years as of 1st October 2025. They should be born between 2nd October 1998 and 1st October 2005 (both dates inclusive).
- Widows of Defence Personnel: The maximum age limit for widows applying under this category is 35 years as of 1st October 2025.
Salary Details
- During Training: Candidates will receive a stipend of ₹56,100 per month while undergoing training at the Officers Training Academy (OTA), Chennai.
- After Commission: Upon successful commissioning, officers will be placed in Level 10 of the Defence Pay Matrix, with a starting salary of ₹56,100 per month, excluding allowances. The total annual cost to the company (CTC), including allowances, is estimated at ₹17–18 lakh.
