Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission released notification for Special Competitive Examination to the post of Typist in Employment and Training Department.

Vacancy Details

This is the best opportunity for temporary typist who were temporarily appointed in Employment and Training Department under Unemployment Assistance Scheme. Tamil Nadu Ministerial Service has announced total 50 job vacancies for the post of typist.

Important Dates

Notification was published on 25th November 2024 and the last date and time for submission of online application is 24th December 2024 - 11.59 P.M.  The date of examination is 8th February 2024.

Eligibility Criteria 

The candidates should have completed the age 18 years and should not have completed 32 years as on 01.07.2024. The candidates must possess Minimum General Educational Qualification means, a pass in the Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) Examination. 

The technical qualification is candidates must have passed the Government Technical Examination in Typewriting. The interested candidates should have adequate knowledge in Tamil.

Salary Details

The level of pay for this job is 8(CPS). The salary for a TNPSC level 8 position is between Rs 19,500 and Rs 62,000 per month.

Selection Process

The written examination is the main process for selection in the Special Competitive Examination for the post of Typist.

The next level selection process is onscreen certificate verification will be conducted before admission to the physical certificate verification.

The total marks gained by the candidate in written examination is the final result.

Scheme of Examination

Written examination is classified into two parts. Each part consisting of 150 marks. 

• Part A is considered as  Tamil Eligibility cum-Scoring Test has 100 questions.
• Part B is divided into two categories one is General Studies has 75 questions and second one is Aptitude and Mental Ability Test has 25 questions.
• The maximum marks allocated for this examination is 300 and the time duration is 3 hours.
• This is the objective type of examination, and the mode of examination is Computer Based Test.

The examination fee Rs.100 

Paid at the time of submitting the online application. Candidates belonging to special categories can avail from paying examination fees as per eligibility criteria.

Restrictions to apply for the examination 

The temporary typists, who were appointed in Employment and Training Department under Unemployment Assistance Scheme are alone eligible to apply for this post. Others are not eligible to apply for this post.
